Solar Eclipse

August 21, Monday, PST

The big buzz today was the solar eclipse.  We already had glasses, so we went out periodically during the day and checked in.    It was cool to see the progress of the solar eclipse.  Even if it was only 60% where we were.

We had a down day at the rig.  I worked outside (with a horrid Internet connection).  I will be glad when we move on to the next site.  Speaking of the next site, the next campground called and said they weren’t with our campground membership anymore.  Sadly, they weren’t going to honor the price of the campground membership.  We decided we were going to stay there anyway.

K and A showed off their new Pacific Beach T-Shirts.

After work was out, K and I headed out to run some errands.  First we ran to AutoZone and bought a new cap for our coolant surge tank.  I’m hoping this will solve the “Low Coolant Level” message we have been getting.

Next we headed to WalMart and picked up a few things for C.

Then we headed to Trader Joe’s and picked up some more items, then we stopped at Lowes to pick up some PVC pipe for the cell phone booster, and lastly we stopped at Krispy Kreme.  ‘Nuff said.

Back to the rig, where I setup the PVC pipe on the roof to raise the cell phone booster antenna higher.  I think this is going to help with the signal.

At some point during the afternoon, we lost water pressure.  When I was taking the trash down to the dumpster, I found one of the maintenance men working on a water pipe on a site.  Mystery solved.

Quesadillas for dinner, bed for M, and then we watched “Dantes Peak” with the girls.  We are “kinda” out of volcano country, so we figured it was a good time to show it to them.

Tomorrow we will start packing for moving day.
