Surf’s Up

August 20, Sunday, PST

We were up this morning and off to church for 10:30a.  We were only a couple of minutes late.  Skyline Church.  Their greeting needs work, as we were able to slip in and out without anyone noticing.  C was a little on edge as there was no sign in for the girls, and she didn’t really know where they went off to.  The sermon was good (talking about the concepts of biblical covenants), but the pastor came off as very condescending and kind of a “know-it-all”.  And no one gave their name when we introduced ourselves.  They just said “Nice to meet you” and then kept talking.  It was a different experience.

We headed back to the RV, changed into our swimsuits, packed lunch, and then headed to Pacific Beach.  We had scheduled surfing lessons for K, A and I and we headed out to be there in plenty of time for the 2:30p lesson.  We arrived at 2p and began driving around for a parking spot.  At 2:20p, I dropped off C and the girls to go and get registered.

I continued to drive around and try to find a parking space.  At 3:15p I finally found a parking space and walked the 5  blocks back to the beach.  I was too late to join in the surfing lesson, but I got to watch the girls have a fantastic time.

After their lesson we hung out on the beach for a while, swimming and playing in the waves.  Then we headed back for home.  Leftovers for dinner, and then the girls were in bed.  They were out like a light.
