Moving Day (November 9)

November 9, Thursday, EST

Up and off early this morning.  Almost a record.

We spent a lot of time driving today.  Up through MD (around Baltimore), then up to DE, and then into NJ and PA.

Then Lola started taking us up through some godforsaken back roads in PA, and we had to get back on track.  So we lost about 45 minutes savings ourselves from the back roads that Lola tried to send us on.  For the most part, Lola has been good, but there are sometimes even I can’t understand why she takes us the ways that she does.

Back onto 95 where we headed up through NJ, with NYC on our left.  We waved at C’s Uncle Ron as we went by (texting him as much), and then finally made it up to the new Tappen Zee Bridge (now called the Mario Cuomo Bridge).

Soon, we made it to Danbury and the Crown Plaza.  Plenty of parking space out back (and a free breakfast in the morning, we found out.  Bonus!).  Apparently with my hotel membership we had a special suite that we could check into to get snacks and drinks and continental breakfast.  This was a first for me; I’ve never had access to this level of perks before.  We checked in, and remembered why we had stayed here in the past.  Nice room, plenty of space, and everyone enjoyed the hot shower in the hotel room.

We headed down to the restaurant and listened to a small band play while we ate.  We got to talking with the waitress (who found out about our RV trip) and she started asking us all about our trip.

Early to bed again, and tomorrow we arrive back in Augusta.
