Arrival

November 10, Friday, PST

We were up at a fairly decent time this morning.  Up to the special “suite” where we ate some muffins for breakfast, and then grabbed some fruit for the road.

We packed up our suitcase and checked out of the room, got packed into the truck, and got headed on the road.  Today’s drive should only be about 5 hours or so.  Back to Augusta, ME we come.

The drive was pretty uneventful until we got to Brunswick, where our Fuel Low light came on.  It doesn’t take long for the reserve to drain at that point, so we were able to make it to the Gardiner Rest Area and fuel up.  13 miles from home, and we have to stop for fuel.

We pulled into home at about 2:30p.  Since it was slated to be cold tonight (17 degrees!), we needed to unpack as much as we could tonight, and I needed to run out and get RV antifreeze to winterize the pipes before we stopped for the night.  I drained the hot water tank, and then ran out to Home Depot.  I came back and ran antifreeze through all the pipes (with K’s help).  We should be good for cold weather now.

At 7p or so the temp was already below freezing, so we decided to be done for the night and to put the slides back in.   Which is when two of the 4 slides wouldn’t go back in.  And this was about the time that C’s sister and our niece (Lynette and Amber) showed up to say hi.  I sprayed some lubricant on them, and we put them out and back in a few times, the last time with me pushing on them to get them back in.  We finally did.

We visited with L & L for a few minutes and then settled in for the night.  C’s parents wouldn’t be home for another 4 days, so we had some time to fully pack things up and get them out of the way before they arrived home.  We will be doing some more unpacking tomorrow.
